Crusher, what is the role of the track plate

In the crusher, the track plate plays an important role in many aspects, which are related to the operating stability of the crusher, the crushing effect and the overall life of the equipment.

First, support and bearing
Stabilized fuselage
When the crusher is working, its own weight plus the huge impact force generated when the crushing material, it needs to have a reliable support structure. The track plate evenly distributes the weight of the crusher to the ground through a large area of contact with the ground, thus ensuring the stability of the crusher during operation. For example, in the large jaw crusher, the heavy body relies on the track plate to support steadily on the ground, to prevent the center of gravity from tilting or shaking, to ensure that the crusher can maintain a stable attitude during continuous high-intensity work.
Bearing material
In addition to supporting the crusher itself, the track plate also needs to carry the material constantly entering the crushing chamber. In equipment such as cone crusher, a large amount of ore and other materials entering from the feed port will first fall on the conveyor device above the track plate, and then be transported to the crushing chamber for crushing. The track plate should be able to withstand the weight of these materials, and maintain a stable bearing state during the continuous entry and exit of materials to ensure the smooth progress of the entire crushing process.

Second, mobility and steering assistance
Flexible movement
For some crushers that need to change the work site frequently, such as mobile crushers, the track plate is a key component to achieve its flexible movement. The friction between the track plate and the ground is moderate, which can ensure that the crusher has enough traction during the moving process, and make the moving process relatively stable. Compared with the wheeled mobile device, the track plate has a larger contact area with the ground, and can move easily on the soft and uneven ground, such as in the mining site, the ground may be covered with gravel and potholes, and the track plate can make the crusher smoothly through these complex terrain and quickly reach the designated working position.
Precise steering
The track plate also facilitates the steering of the crusher. By controlling the different movement speeds of the two sides of the track plate, the crusher can achieve precise steering operation. For example, when it is necessary to turn to the left, the movement of the left track plate slows down, and the right track plate maintains a normal speed or accelerates, so that the crusher is able to turn in the predetermined direction. This flexible steering function allows the crusher to adjust its position freely in a limited working space and better adapt to different working scenarios.

Third, wear and protection
Resistance to wear
When the crusher is working, the track plate will produce frequent friction with various materials and the ground. Especially when dealing with materials such as ore with high hardness, the wear pressure faced by the track plate is very large. In order to cope with this situation, the track plate is usually made of high-strength, wear-resistant materials, such as high-manganese steel. These materials have good wear resistance and impact resistance, can effectively resist the friction of materials and ground, and extend the service life of the track plate. Even in the long-term high-intensity working environment, the track plate can maintain good integrity, reducing the need for frequent replacement due to wear and tear.
Protect the body
In addition to its own wear resistance, the track plate also plays a role in protecting the crusher body. When the crusher moves or works on the uneven ground, the track plate can buffer the impact force caused by the fluctuation of the ground and reduce the impact on the internal structure and parts of the crusher body. For example, in harsh working environments such as mines, obstacles such as stones on the ground may impact the bottom of the crusher, and the track plate can absorb part of the impact, reduce the risk of damage to the body, so as to protect the key components of the crusher, such as transmission, crushing chamber, etc., and improve the overall reliability and stability of the equipment.
